The Journey of My Life in the UAE

My name is Jabar Subair, and I have been working at Astomos Energy Corporation, Abu Dhabi (UAE) as Executive Driver cum PRO since June 2013. My main responsibility is to provide safe transportation for the office employees, collection and delivery of documents, arranging visas and other documents for the employees and other duties as assigned by the Abu Dhabi office. I am also responsible for the timely cleaning and maintenance of my vehicle and ensuring that it is always ready for travelling. Normally, I am driving in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and occasionally to other parts of the UAE as per the requirements of the office.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a small country which consists of 7 emirates. Our office is in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE. My life in UAE started way back in 2006. When I reached UAE for the first time, I was really surprised, and the country was developing in a very fast pace. The community of UAE is mainly Arabs, but expatriates are always welcomed and accepted. Tourists from different parts of the world visit this country to explore and experience the diversity, varieties of food and various tourist places including Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world), Expo 2020, and the Museum of the Future. They also conduct various events and festivals like the Dubai Shopping Festival, Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, and National Day Celebrations. These events mainly showcase the historic tradition and culture of the UAE. The UAE is considered as one of the safest countries in the world.

UAE – Culture, Tradition and Heritage

The UAE is very rich in its traditional culture and still now maintains its culture in its purest form. The traditional occupations were fishing, pearl diving, and farming. The Arabian oryx is the national animal and the falcon is the national bird of UAE. Camels, the Arabian leopard, Arabian sand cats, and the red fox are also usually found in the UAE. The ghaf tree is the national tree of UAE. The Ayyalah Dance (Stick Dance) is one of the UAE’s traditional dances. The UAE has had a very rich past and people have always expressed their emotions through the various practices of dance and music. Hence, dance is very important and close to people. Dance is used by local people on such occasions as marriages, festivals and so on, even in parties. It is a means of celebration and dates back to the days when the natives were people who lived in the heart of the desert, with nothing substantial to show. Their dance is an act of celebration and rejoicing, of what they have achieved in the recent history.
My hobbies are reading and sports (both playing and watching). I especially enjoy playing football and cricket. I also like to visit friends and relatives and to explore different part of the country with my family during weekends.
