Indonesia, the Beautiful Country Where Work & Hobbies Can Harmonize

Gratifying Days

Hello dear colleagues! My name is Mokhamad Fajar Pratama, people often call me Tama. I was born and raised in Indonesia, and I live and work in Jakarta, the nation’s capital. I joined MMKSI in May 2014. As a PR department team member in this automotive company, my main responsibility is to support company communications for both internal and external parties (media, influencers, Mitsubishi fans, etc.). I really love this job and feel beyond blessed, because meeting diverse people gives me huge experience, broadens my perspective, and adds to the scope of my networking. Not to mention that I have had many opportunities to visit many great places in Indonesia while doing the job.

Not only that, from October 2019 to early March 2020 I had the most memorable and precious opportunity to join the On-the-Job Training Program at Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) HQ in Tokyo, Japan, in the Public Relations Department. I was very happy and didn’t expect that I would meet and work directly with colleagues in the Mitsubishi Corporation and the MMC HQ with whom I previously had only communicated via email or online meetings. I learned a lot from my MMC and MC colleagues, and can’t thank them enough for their generous hospitality and patience while I was there (I can’t even speak Japanese). We still keep in close contact and enjoy good communication.

The Mitsubishi Motors brand has a strong presence in Indonesia because of its contribution to the Indonesian economy for more than 50 years. The Indonesian economic and automotive markets are gradually recovering from the pandemic. And what I can assure you is that our MMKSI team is filled with talented people devoted to their job to continuously maintain and strengthen the Mitsubishi Motors brand position further here in the Indonesia market.

Indonesia Bagus!

Have you heard of Bali, Lombok, or Raja Ampat, as scenic spots and some of the most beautiful tourism destinations on earth? Yes, those places are located in Indonesia—an archipelago nation with a strong maritime heritage and socio-cultural diversity. There are just too many tourism attractions for global citizens to visit.

As seen in the photos, I’m proud to say that travelling is one of my hobbies, as well as cycling and music. As for long distance and long holiday periods, I love to go on road trips by car with friends or family to Java, Bali, and Sumatra, which are some 1,000 kilometers from Jakarta.

On weekends, I love to cycle to the outskirts and countryside near Jakarta with day trips of around 50–100 kilometers. Sometimes I like to take my bicycle in my car when traveling to other cities, to ride and see scenic routes in different cities. An interesting fact, I can also use my cycling hobby to maintain relations with media people because in recent years cycling has become a popular sport here in Indonesia.

I believe that spending your leisure time on hobbies full of excitement is important for doing your job seriously and maximally. I wish to have the opportunity to travel more and to cycle more abroad in the future, in Japan or Europe maybe. Wish me luck, dear colleagues.
