Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for National University of East Timor Students

Astomos Energy (AE) held a scholarship presentation ceremony in December 2021 for students enrolled at the National University of East Timor (UNTL). Since 2008, the company has purchased LP gas exported from the Bayu-Undan field jointly developed by Australia and East Timor. As an expression of its gratitude for the long-term and stable supply of LP gas, in 2015 the company established a scholarship system as well as a study-in-Japan program for students enrolled at UNTL. To date, scholarships have been awarded to 120 students, with 8 of the most outstanding students being invited to Japan to learn about Japanese culture and to train in their specialist fields. This program has been highly praised by the East Timor government.

Presentation ceremony attended by the UNTL rector, departmental heads and other staff, by the Japanese Ambassador to East Timor, and by representatives of the East Timor Ministry of Education, the East Timor Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
UNTL rector João Soares Martins gives scholarship students words of encouragement and presents them with their Scholarship Certificates. He also thanked the company for establishing the scholarship system.
