Development of NITRBLACK® UB-2 Inorganic Pigment

Mitsubishi Materials (MMC) and its consolidated subsidiary Mitsubishi Materials Electronic Chemicals have recently developed NITRBLACK® UB-2, a further evolution of the NITRBLACK® UB-1 inorganic pigment with a high UV permeability, which they developed in 2017 using proprietary nitrogen oxide reduction technology. With a UV permeability that is over 50% greater than the NITRBLACK® UB-1, NITRBLACK® UB-2 shortens the UV irradiation time for curing a thicker resin film by 75% or more. As well as its application being expanded to LCD displays, optical sensors and lenses, the product is expected to be rolled out to a wider field of applications including light shielding adhesives and can also be expected to lead to improvements in energy efficiency and reductions in greenhouse gases.
