Mitsubishi
Motors is an automobile industry leader in fuel efficiency
with its Gasoline Direct Injection technology. It also is
a leader in recycling technologies. The company continues
to develop new applications for recycled materials.
Recently, Mitsubishi Motors began installing
air filter cases made from recycled paper and recycled polypropylene.
The automaker has used air filter cases made from recycled
paper and new polypropylene since 1998. Now, it has developed
technology for using polypropylene recovered from beverage
containers and other plastic waste in the cases. The automaker
made news earlier by developing engine covers made from
recycled PET bottles (Mitsubishi Monitor, August/September
