The UNU-Kirin Fellowship
Programme of the UN University was established in 1993
to enhance the capacity of food research institutions
throughout Asia. Kirin Brewery supports the programme
by covering the costs of five fellowships annually for
outstanding young researchers from developing countries
for tenure at the National Food Research Institute (NFRI)
in Japan. It also supports follow-up research activities
of the fellows after their return to their home institutions.
The UN University and Kirin Brewery renewed the Fellowship
Programme for 2005–2006, the programme’s 13th
year.
