AGELESS® is an oxygen absorber made by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical. When used inside a food package it removes oxygen to the level of virtually oxygen-free condition and keeps the food fresh almost “agelessly.” Oxygen can adversely affect foodstuffs in a number of ways. It can, for example, change the color, promote the growth of mold and sometimes even change the taste of the food. AGELESS® is used to prevent these undesirable effects.
AGELESS® was first developed in 1977 and was initially offered in just three different varieties. Today a comprehensive range of over 600 types meets variation of the foods and packaging requirements. Outside of Japan, exports of the AGELESS® range to Europe, America and Asia have been on the increase in recent years and keen interest is being shown in this original Japanese technology as “active and intelligent package”. After contributing to safety and consumer confidence in foodstuffs for over 30 years, AGELESS® today continues to make further evolutionary advances. |
