I firstly joined Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (HK) as the Assistant to the Chairman & CEO in the Management Office in 2008. Since the transfer of the Chairman and CEO in May 2010, I was transferred to work as the Head of the General Administration Department to oversee the daily operations. After working in my former company for almost 10 years, the experience in operating beauty salons in Hong Kong and oversea branches enhanced me in gaining solid experience especially in the office administration field. The current works that my department has to take are quite widespread; it could be as minor as maintaining pantry stock inventory up to office renovation work, etc.
Living in Hong Kong is always a challenge and you may find it is one of the world’s most exciting cities. Prior to the Handover of Hong Kong to China, Hong Kong had belonged to be a British colony for a century. Hong Kong has developed to a global and internationalized nation. This is mainly because Hong Kong has imposed a 9–year compulsory education since the 70’s. Closed to 90% of Hong Kong primary schools and colleges have adopted English as their
standard teaching language. Although the usage of Mandarin has significantly increased due to the rise of Hong Kong China business, the knowledge of English is always an added value to everyone’s workplace, which leads to improve career opportunities.

With the limited space resources and financial supports in Hong Kong, a review of current sports development in Hong Kong was conducted in the early 21st century. This is mainly tackling few purposes generally supported by the community. These include (1) Promoting Sports in Hong Kong and equipping Hong Kong to host international sports events (2) Fostering high performance sports. According to the recent survey, Hong Kong has developed ten
popular sports such as football, swimming, table tennis, horse racing, badminton, etc. In 2008, Hong Kong was picked as one of the world-class venues for cross-country races of Equestrian Events in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
I am a keen badminton player mainly in mixed doubles. Apart from attending weekly badminton classes, I usually play two to three times a week with different groups of players and team mates. We join badminton campaign hosted by various organizations at least twice a year in order to obtain concrete live experience. The intensive playing schedules enhance good health and tackling social exclusion such as meeting new friends, improving team building techniques and enlarging my visions from macro directions. It also generates significant contribution to my wellbeing and healthy lifestyle. My next target is to reach the standard of playing badminton singles, which essentially requires improving the tactics not only from the right shots but to improve my physical endurance. It is also critical to promote my Emotional Intelligence through the participation in games and practices.

Aloha from Hawaii! Aloha is a Hawaiian word that can mean hello or goodbye. It also means love and affection. Because of aloha’s unique meaning, Hawaii is called the Aloha State. The literal meaning of aloha is “the presence of breath” or “the breath of life.” It is a way of living and treating each other with love and respect.
Hawaii is the 50th state of the United States of America. It is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, southwest of the continental United States and southeast of Japan. Because of Hawaii’s unique location it has been influenced by many different cultures. The result is a melting pot of people and traditions that can be found no where else in the world. This diversity is what makes Hawaii special.
The state encompasses not only the eight main islands, but an entire volcanic chain of small, uninhabited islands. Honolulu, the State’s capitol city, is located on the island of O’ahu, with famous landmarks Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor. You will find other treasures on the neighboring islands such as volcanoes on the Big Island, Haleakala and a winding drive to Hana on Maui, peace and quiet on Lana’i, and

lush green valleys on Kaua’i.
Hawaii will be able to showcase its natural beauty, hospitality and world-class facilities when it hosts the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November. Local leaders are looking forward to this event in order to show the world that Hawaii can be an important business force and potential trading partner.
Trivia: President of the United States Barack Obama was born and raised in Hawaii.

PGL is the largest life insurance company based in Hawaii and will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. These deep roots in the community help employees give personalized service to our customers. The company’s longevity and success can be attributed to the strong support from the community and recognition as a subsidiary of Meiji Yasuda Life (Meiji Yasuda). Meiji Yasuda’s interest started in 1976 and PGL has been a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Meiji Yasuda since 1985.
It is important that our employees maintain a good work / life balance, so we are fortunate to work for a company that is so supportive. PGL provides its employees with generous benefits and career opportunities, and sponsors many activities that promote interaction and camaraderie among employees. Working in the Human Resources department gives me an opportunity to assist the Company in meeting its objectives by reinforcing company standards while encouraging our employees to meet their full potential. As chair of the Special Activities Committee (SAC), I help organize a variety of functions and events for our employees. SAC hosts office parties each quarter and fields company teams in recreational Softball and Volleyball leagues.
Employees give back to their neighbors though charitable events such as Aloha United Way (AUW) campaigns, food drives, and beach clean ups. Because of the generosity of our employees, PGL was given the prestigious title of a “Top Community Supporter” in 2010 by AUW. Last year, employees donned green shirts to work in support of the University of Hawaii warrior football team.
Our Company philosophy, "Sharing Our Life with Yours", is just one more way to say Aloha.
