The Great East Japan Earthquake was on an unprecedented scale and caused an enormous loss of life. Some
Mitsubishi Companies have suffered damage and been otherwise affected by the disaster.
With the earthquake and tsunami damage compounded by the nuclear power station problem, the forecasts
are that the road to recovery will be long and precipitous.
The aid and assistance given so generously by countries around the world to help Japan in its recovery
efforts has given heart and encouragement to many, many Japanese. They are deeply grateful for all the
generous support given from abroad.
The people of Japan and Japanese industry have united as they start to work toward recovery. Mitsubishi
Companies are engaged in a variety of efforts to support the victims of the disaster.
We are confident that Japan and its people, through their own efforts and with the heartwarming support
from countries around the world, will be able to overcome this terrible ordeal at an early stage. |
