Mitsubishi Motors Corporation gave the Mitsubishi Concept Global Small compact car its China debut at the Auto Shanghai2011 international motor show which began on April 19. A concept model, the Mitsubishi Concept Global Small has been developed for the company’s worldwide markets to the themes
of “compact,” “affordability” and “high fuel efficiency”. Other show models on display were the Mitsubishi Concept PX-MiEV new-generationcrossover concept, which uses the new Mitsubishi Plug-in Hybrid System, and the Pajero Sport mid-size SUV that has
been developed to a “high-speed off-roader”concept. The lineup of 11 models on display at the Auto Shanghai included Mitsubishi-brand models currently on sale in China. |

Mitsubishi Electric recently garnered two awards at
the internationally acclaimed iF Design Awards 2011
sponsored by iF International Forum Design GmbH in
Hanover, Germany. iF Product Design Awards were
presented to the company’s European specification
Kirigamine Zen room air conditioner and to its SJ-D
Series spindle motor. The Kirigamine Zen air conditioner was
rated highly for its eco-friendly energy efficiency and its clean
and elegant design. The SJ-D spindle motor scored highly
for achieving a 25 percent reduction in energy loss over its
predecessor as well as for its compact and lightweight design
resulting from the consolidation of component parts and from a
43 percent reduction in the amount of copper used. |

Mitsubishi Estate is to participate in a joint project with CapitaLand Residential Singapore Pte. Ltd. – a subsidiary of CapitaLand Ltd., one of Asia’s largest real estate companies – to develop condominium complexes in Singapore. The new project involves the development of two high-rise condominium buildings, each at least 36 stories in height, housing some 600 residential units with a total floor area of 58,786 square meters. The company
will acquire a 25 percent equity stake in the project by investing ¥5 billion through its subsidiary Mitsubishi Estate Asia Pte. Ltd. The project boasts a prime location in the Bishan
district of Singapore, a prestigious residential area that offers excellent transportation convenience, one of the city’s largest parks and several well-established schools.

Nikon has identified Thailand and Brazil, which have both
displayed remarkable economic growth in recent years, as markets with the potential to continue growing strongly in the near future. In Thailand Nikon has recently established a new subsidiary
Nikon Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to boost sales of digital cameras and other imaging products and to offer better after-sales service. Likewise, in Brazil Nikon has launched a new subsidiary Nikon do Brasil Ltda. to promote sales of digital cameras, microscopes, measuring instruments and to raise the level of its after-sales service. The new local affiliates will help promote more strategic marketing and effective advertising to strengthen and expand Nikon’s presence in the two countries. Both new subsidiaries started operations in April. |
