| Today is seeing a rapid proliferation of smartphones, tablet PCs
and other devices, the majority of which feature designs where
touchscreen panels cover most of their surfaces. Asahi Glass (AGC) has recently developed and launched on its global markets
the new product Dragontrail™, a chemically strengthened glass
for use as a cover material for touchscreen panels. Dragontrail
is several times stronger than conventional soda-lime glass,
highly resistant to scratches and features the beautiful, pristine
finish characteristic of glass. Dragontrail is free of environmentally harmful materials such

| as arsenic, lead and antimony. AGC uses a highly efficient float process to manufacture Dragontrail, leveragingthe company’s extensive technical expertise in producing specialized glass acquired through the manufacture of glass substrates for TFT-LCD and OLED display panels. AGC will look beyond touchscreen covers as it explores new applications for this versatile product. |
