Mitsubishi Estate (MEC) is currently engaged in the development
of a residential estate for around 3,400 houses in a 7.5 hectare site
in the Longquanyi District of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan
Province. MEC is working with Surbana Corporation Pte. Ltd. (SPC)
of Singapore. MEC has made a 30 percent equity investment in
the project through SPC, and the construction work is due to start
toward the end of 2012. The site is located some 15 km southeast
of the city center. With the opening of the No.2 subway line linking
it to the city center, and the scheduled invitation of investment from
the hotel, medical
facility and golf
course industries
and from wellknown
educational
establishments, the
area is expected
to grow into an
upmarket residential
district. |

Mitsubishi Electric has completed delivery and installation of
Japan’s largest digital signage system at Narita International Airport,
comprising a total of 100 display units made up of a total of 336
display panels and including the organic light-emitting Panorama
Vision screen. The system, which covers all passenger terminal
areas, displays airport news and advertisements as well as “Living
Japan,” which depicts the beautiful natural scenery of Japan, and
“Aquarium Japan,” which shows enchanting marine life for waiting
passengers. The system went into full-scale operation following an
opening ceremony on June 26, 2012. |

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Mitsubishi
Corporation (MC) hosted a joint exhibition at the Japan
Pavilion, a side event of Rio+20, the United Nations Conference
on Sustainable Development held
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 13 to 24. MHI and MC introduced
a wide range of their business
operations and products to the
joint concept of “realization of a
low-carbon society through the
creation of smart communities.”
Using panel displays and video
presentations, MHI introduced
High-Efficiency Power Generation,
Carbon-Free Energy, Energy
Management and Transportation
System while MC focused on
areas of smart community, water
utility, solar power, emission
trading business and CSR.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation launched the allnew
“Canter Eco Hybrid” light-duty truck in Japan on May 18, with
plans for international roll-out later in 2012. Based on the Canter
light-duty truck, which underwent a full model change in 2010,
the hybrid truck was created through a distinctive and holistic
development process to the concept of achieving the highest
levels of environment, economy, and safety performance.
The truck achieves an optimum balance in the fusion of
established and cutting-edge technologies – which include the
world’s first dual-clutch transmission with a built-in hybrid motor.
The result is a “green” truck which boasts best-in-class fuel
efficiency in Japan and is also very environment-, driver- and
community-friendly. |
