MY TIME AT NYK
I have been working at NYK South America Chile for 12 years. I joined in August 2014 in customer service in the RORO division, an area that was just being formed at the time. That opportunity was the greatest joy of my professional life; with only one year of prior experience, NYK opened the doors to a world that continues to surprise me to this day. I have been able to grow professionally and meet wonderful people in a division that started with only 4 members. Today, in 2026, our group has 8 people who work together day by day and have managed to stand out both within and outside the region. I enjoy every opportunity within the organization, and together with my team, we have managed to build a close-knit group that allows us to support one another whenever needed.
My beloved country: Chile
My country, Chile, stands out for its beauty and nature that are typical of South America. We have three geographic zones, divided into North, Central, and South Chile. In my opinion, one of the best areas is southern Chile, with its green landscapes overflowing with nature, flora, and fauna. There are two places that I would love for people to discover, and if they have the chance, to visit:
Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve: This is a beautiful place surrounded by nature, located in the Los Ríos Region, which is known for its native forests and striking waterfalls. Here, I was able to enjoy a unique, relaxing getaway together with my boyfriend. We hiked the trails to the Salto de la Leona waterfall, a magical place where you can immerse yourself fully in nature. Standing there, you are able to connect and appreciate just how small, yet profoundly beautiful, this little corner of the country is. It fills me with emotion to remember that moment, because it allowed me to see that life can reward you with the discovery of unique places within one’s own country.

Torres del Paine: another beautiful place I have visited is Torres del Paine, located in the Patagonia Region in the far south of Chile. It is by far one of my favorite places because it truly deserves its title of the eighth wonder of the world, which it won by popular vote in 2013. This place impressed me from the moment my boyfriend and I left our hotel in Punta Arenas, passing through Puerto Natales, until we reached our destination. Although we didn't do the usual trekking to reach the base of the towers due to health reasons, we were able to experience a clear day that gave us this wonderful postcard-like scene as a gift, with the reflection of the Torres del Paine mirrored in the lake. Our guide told us we were truly lucky to see it that way, given that it was the end of winter in September 2025—a time of year when such conditions are uncommon.
