New Partnership with UNFPA Vietnam Will Explore Solutions to Aging & Other Issues

Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Vietnam have recently, in August 2022, signed a memorandum to enter a new partnership committed to working closely together to effectively address aging and other issues in Vietnam. MRI has previously worked with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, including a workshop with the elderly in Hung Yen province, to gain a better understanding of issues relating to the rapid aging of the population, and, as one solution, has looked at expanding the network of relevant government agencies and service providers in order to promote care and support for the elderly. The signing of the memorandum will enable the company, working closely with UNFPA Vietnam, to explore the best models for Vietnam in providing for older persons, such as by improving health and social care welfare services and by enhancing the environment for the elderly, as it works to contribute to solutions to social issues in Vietnam along with the creation of business opportunities for Japanese enterprises.
