Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus (MFTBC) presented the next generation of its eCanter electric truck at IAA Transportation 2022, which was held in Hanover in September. Sales of the next generation eCanter in Europe will start in Q4 2022, with mass production to follow in 2023. The new eCanter is available in the European market in a wide range of 42 variants. In the coming years, the next-generation eCanter will also be introduced in additional markets, including Chile, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and Taiwan. These expansion plans are part of MFTBC and Daimler Truck’s strategic shift to battery-electric and fuel-cell powered solutions over the next decades. As an integral part of Daimler Truck, MFTBC is also committed to selling only carbon-neutral (tank-to-wheel) products in the triad markets of Japan, Europe, and North America from 2039.
