180 George Street—Sydney’s Tallest Office Building Achieves Completion at 263 Meters
Mitsubishi Estate (MEC) has recently completed the development of 180 George Street (also known as Salesforce Tower), an office building located in the Sydney Place precinct, which MEC has been developing, in a joint venture with an Australian real estate development company, Lendlease, and with Ping An Real Estate, a member of one of China’s major financial groups, since 2016. The building, which has a total floor area of over 62,710 square meters, is located in the Circular Quay area in Sydney CBD. Completion of the entire precinct, including a 965 square meters plaza and retail and other facilities, is expected in early 2023. This new building has been created through the lens of sustainability and wellness, as demonstrated by features such as LED lighting, motion sensors, weather-activated automatic blinds, and EV car sharing. 180 George Street has been awarded the WELL Core and Shell platinum rating and the Green Building Council of Australia’s Design & As Built 6 Star Green Star and is targeting a 5.5 Star NABERS energy rating.
