It has been announced that the name of the block, which includes Meiji Yasuda Life Building located at 2-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and the neighboring Meiji Seimei Kan, will be given the new name, "Meiji Yasuda Village Marunouchi" (official name: Meiji Yasuda Life Building Block). Under the concept of "Community Vitalization Space", Meiji Yasuda Life will implement initiatives to contribute to the vitalization of the Marunouchi district, focusing on disseminating sports and culture.

Spreading Energy from Marunouchi to All of Japan

Meiji Yasuda Life sympathizes with the J.League's philosophy of fostering a rich sporting culture based on sports clubs firmly routed in their local communities and has continued to support the J.League as its title partner. Because of this connection, the J.League 's headquarters moved to the 8th floor of the Meiji Yasuda Life Headquarters Building in May 2023. Additionally, in October 2022, the Seikado Bunko Art Museum exhibition gallery, located in Setagaya, Tokyo, was relocated to the first floor of Meiji Seimei Kan. These events led to the launch of "Meiji Yasuda Village."

At the opening ceremony held at the Meiji Yasuda Life Building on July 11, attendees included Meiji Yasuda Life Chairman of the Board Mr. Akio Negishi, President, Representative Executive officer Mr. Hideki Nagashima, J.League Chairman Mr. Yoshikazu Nonomura, J.League OB Association Chairman and Community Vitalization Project Ambassador Mr. Hisato Sato, and J.League Special Advisor and Community Vitalization Project Ambassador Mr. Kengo Nakamura.

In his speech, Mr. Nagashima referred to the J.League "as [a comrades who shares the same aspiration] from the fact that it continues to vitalize communities through soccer." Mr. Nonomura also emphasized the strength of the bond between the two organizations, saying, "Now that J.League will work here, Marunouchi is our hometown. We will continue our activities while playing a role with Meiji Yasuda Life to vitalize Marunouchi at first." In addition, Mr. Nonomura added, "We will give our best to deliver energy from Marunouchi to various places across Japan.”

Mr. Sato stated, "The active players are playing the principal roles of the J.League, but we OB players will communicate [the appeal of the J.League] more than ever before. We want to make the Meiji Yasuda Village the base for such activities." Mr. Nakamura expressed his expectations for the Meiji Yasuda Village, saying, "I am delighted to be able to deliver vitality from Marunouchi with Meiji Yasuda Life through the J.League."

The Meiji Yasuda Village is slated to expand to buildings in Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Sapporo that contain facilities such as the Meiji Yasuda Hall.
